ohm closed this thread with "if you were a rasta you wouldnt have cut your hair, rastas never cut their hair." if you claim to be a rasta, you should know this....that from my understands, rastas shall never place any razor on their skin/head...meaning that they will never cut their hair. and you sir, not to be a jerk. cut your hair for the lame ass reason being. "I cut it because I didnt like how thin they were, I like thick dreads." emoticon

....Okay?....Have you ever heard of a congo, and how about giving your hair 2-3 years before you decide if you like the thickness of your knots.

very true. i'm not rasta, but if i were, my livity would be deeper than cutting because "i didn't like the thickness". i almost kicked the chick that retwisted my hair last time. she snipped the ends of three of them without asking me, and ifelt literally mortified. a blade had not come to my head in 2 years, and i quite plannedon keeping it that way.

i've heard some "valid"(?) reasons for Rastafari cutting being the death of a family member and the birth of a child. [realizing that may only be some Mansions] any thoughts, daughta?

dunno bout birth or death of family member or childbirth. only rastas i know cut when they deceased, family members kept the locks.

and thanks, ohm. like i said, i wasn't sure but had heard of some cases. thinking about it now, it may have been this house of black Nazarites, christians with a version of the NOI/ Hebrew Isrealite emoticon
