i wouldn't cut if i were you, and i only say that because you clearly dont want to cut.
you used wax, alot of it. not the smartest but what's done is done. so i say, try and wash it. hot water seems like a good start, and go from there. maybe soem ACV rinses too.
but they actually look pretty good. do they feel slimy and gross? are they sticky? i mean if you can get most of it out, then what's the difference if you are happier with somewhat waxy centers in your dreads rather than a shaved head?
having wax in your dreads is pretty yuck, feels gross, etc. but no one is going to arrest you, you will not get a terminal illness, no one is going to die. it's all going to be alright.
honestly, play it by ear. if 6 months from now, 2 years, etc and you still are troubled by this wax situation, you'll know what to do when that time comes. otherwise, best of luck.
:)

Re: new
Just some of my experience with wax:
I waxed my hair the first 3 months, and I didn't even use a half jar of dreadlock bees wax. now, four years and 3 months later, I still have wax in there.
ain't gonna cut because of it, but it shows when the locks are wet, not so fresh, so try to get as much as you can out now in the beginning of the journey, the more you wait, the more dirt the wax will attract and the more it will really get stuck in your hair.
I washed it out on this small part of a dread just a few months ago, and that part is normal hair, it ain't dreaded at all, just so you know, **** might fall out if you get the wax out, but don't worry! it will lock up again on it's own!
Maybe dish-washing liquid that's resolves fat haven't tried it though, it's your risk to try it.
anyway, good luck with that ****
