6/19 & 6/20

Friday night at Bloomington Speedway... I finished 7th in my heat race after spinning out and having to restart on the tail. I started 19th in the 21 car field for the feature. the track was really black and slick. I managed to finish in the 15th spot.

Saturday night at Lincoln Park Speedway was much better. I started on the tail of the 2nd heat race and was able to work my way into the 2nd finishing spot!

That gave me a starting spot on the inside of row 3 for the 30 lap feature. At the start of the race I was running in the 5th spot. I worked my way patiently around the #9 for the fourth spot pretty early on. At this point my brother Greg Amick #6J led with Slick Griffin #G2, Kris Starks #26 and myself following. Then there was a red flag for a car on fire. Kris Starks dropped out at this point with a busted radiator which allowed me to move into the 3rd position for the restart. I was moving in on the 2nd spot, but several cautions kept me from being able to make up much ground. With a 3 or 4 laps to go, Cullen Goodman #1ST was able to get around me. Greg won, followed by Griffin, Goodman and myself!

Way to go Greg on your 2nd win in a row! I didn't have such a bad might either with a 4th place finish.
