4/17/09 - Bloomington Speedway
Well, we finally finished up the car around 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon, just in time to load and get to the track. After working all day trying to finish things up, I was so ready to finally get out on the track.
Thank you to 'Little' Eric Thompson for taking some still shots of the car prior to getting the car dirty!
In hot laps, the car felt awesome! The track was tacky and we were getting some great byte. We started inside row 3 in the third heat race. At the drop of the green flag, we went into turn one nice and smooth. Then someone in front got sideways and had to check up, but we were going to make it underneath, just as I punched it to exit the corner, I was picked up from behind. When the car landed, we twisted the rear-end and threw the drive shaft, ending our night early. It was just one of those racing incidents that could not be helped. We don't think that there was any damage. going to check everything out today to get ready for tonight. Unfortunately, our early evening landed us our first DNS/DNF of the season. Hopefully, that will be all for this season!
