lolIRC
I'm sure there aren't too many IRC fans out there still but for those of you that care check out what I did.

Torm and I discussed the difficulty of such a spread out unit getting together for meetings I think this would resolve that issue.
If you prefer to use your own IRC client instead of pjirc the server is ironforge.sorcery.net and the channel is #loltree

Re: lolIRC
i cant leave it up 24/7 but for scheduled meetings i can put up a
teamspeak server.
its voip software used for online gamers. everything is free. the audio quality is adjustable.
there is a similar program called ventrillo that is a little better and a lot of hosts provide package deals for voice/webhosting starting about 8$ a month and up.

Re: lolIRC
IRC = free
IRC = always on
IRC = easy to use web interface
IRC = Lots of functionality
IRC = No sign up
I believe that an IRC chat is the way to go. Plus I made the web interface so pretty why would you not want to use it? Teamspeak and Ventrillo are not a good idea because they require that you download and install new software, and you must own a microphone. Not that, that would be an issue for myself but I'm thinking about Legacy and even Eryndor at large. AIM or other similar chat programs are not good because not everyone has the same program or account on each, some prefer jabber, MSN, yahoo, or ICQ. Using AIM would require that everyone has to get an AIM account, IRC requires no sign up at all, just a nickname choice that you use only while in the chat. Plus I don't feel that AIM handles group chat very well, I have used it on several occasions. Lets not spend a lot of time debating this. The IRC web interface is done, I had fun making it and it is the best choice for meetings when everyone has the time but just can't get to a specific location.

Re: lolIRC
I also want to add that for those using AIM get rid of it and download Pidgin.
