SO whats new with our tech gang?
Im just curious if we have been able to get something figured out yet or if everyone is still twidling their fingers around with ideas. We should all post what we think the website should have and then apoint at least two if not a group of people to do this project seeing as how we all have busy lives maybe an exchange of contact info should be involved as well to help. Since my Dad has done this stuff before I wouldn't mind learning with his help. But we need something I think. So lets start this train peeps.

Maybe I should start it. I see the symbol in the center with a bar of links on both sides. One side would have links to our character bios where each person could update and load pics of themselves, links to the culture of eryndor like it is on the old site but with a twist. The twist would tell of how eryndor formed and what we stand for and just give a glimpse into what eryndor was in the beginning. On the other side would have links to the different units as well as main dag site, with a list of events coming up for the month or so including the major events. This is just a thought and can be changed.

I like your ideas so far, awesome.
One of the buttons would be a link to something like 'Come fight with the Legacy' where we have a list of all the known practice locations that Legacy members regularly attend, with contact information for 2 of the Legacy members in that region. That way, interested people can come find us, and its yet another way to advertise fighting for various local groups!

I am done with the website as far as coding it goes. Right now it only has the main page for current news and a link to this site and a log in page for individual legacy members, this gives legacy the ability to create their own profile pages (think myspace or facebook but without all the annoying ads and apps) and takes the responsibility away from any one person for creating profile pages. You can log in right now but not create your profile page yet. It has both a front end (the part everyone sees) and a backend (for editing content). I am currently just waiting for Arias to finish the graphics because I can't draw a straight line to save my life. Once those are done it will take me a few days to line up the images for now I'll post a link to the rather generic looking site that I have already so you can see there actually has been progress on this. What we had in mind was a border consisting of woven branches the main content in the center over top of a cool looking dew covered spider web image that I found. The header "Legacy of the Lifetree" image I thought could be a piece of wood with the name burned into it or actually have the letters made from sticks or something, I left that to Arias because I didn't know which would be easier. The menu items were to be buds that would open to be leaves with your menu choice written on them upon mouse over (easier to code than it probably sounds) The graphics and layout of the site would be stored to templates. I envisioned having 4 templates all together to match the seasons. This would not be hard to do at all because joomla the content management system pretty much does all this for you. All you have to do is draw up the images and then line them up. Joomla has plugins that are easy to install that can help manage our events and do all sorts of other cool stuff. Athron should know what I'm talking about, I have a lot more experience using the application now too. The ideas that you guys mentioned I can easily add to the site. I may have them added by the time you read this.

I could be way off on this but if Yinz knows how to do graphics for online stuff he should be incharge of that seeing as his beautiful work has been shown to all of dagorhir we should use his gift to benefit our wonderful group. Just a thought. But I'm gona check out the site now.

I'm sure if Yinz wants to do it, I have no problem with it. Living at my parents for the summer has put a damper on my creative spirit. If not, then you all should just keep getting on my case about doing the graphics, and I will do it to the best of my abilities.
