I need stain removal help!!!

My two trolls got a hold of a dry erase marker and now EVERYTHING in my daughter's room is graffitied up with blue marker.

I tried alcohol. I tried windex (which removes Sharpie ink for goodness sake!). I've tried magic erasers. I've tried hairspray. I've tried stain removers like Zout and Spray 'n Wash.

I've been able to get it off the solid stuff, but the fabrics I've had no luck with.

Anyone know a brilliant solution to my problem, short of buying her a new bed set and reupholstering her bench?

Okay...I don't know if this will work for dry erase maker but I recently discover Goo Gone. I've used it for oil and water based paint stains on clothes and carpet. It really works.

The removers are getting increasingly weaker. I once got gobs of printers' ink off a car seat with Spot Shot. Last time I found the stuff it was a lot weaker. We used to use Graffitti Remover and Easy Off to get dried ink off our mirror-like backcylinders at the print shop. If you try these PLEASE MAKE A TEST IN A LOW PROFILE PLACE as they will probably eat whatever you are trying to clean. Good luck!

Re: …

I know we used to use a laundry detergent called BIZ that my mom swears can take anything out.
She could get anything out of fabric with it after she soaked it.

If you can find it maybe it will work

OXYCLEAN!!

I swear by it. If you pre-treat, your results will be even better. This stuff totally rocks.

I did some internet hunting to help

They recommended
1. Murphy's Oil Soap
2. Oxy Clean
3. Dry erase board cleaner that one can get at an office supply or even Walmart.

Good Luck

I do know how to get Vaseline out of hair

Re: I need stain removal help!!!

I'm worried about oil based products since it's fabric.

I'm getting some oxyclean in the morning to try.

I tried the dry erase cleaner spray (it's pretty much just rubbing alcohol), and it didn't work.

And I keep finding MORE stuff that they colored on. They were only alone in there for about 10 minutes!

Careful with the Oxyclean...it burns your skin (I don't know how it doesn't burn holes through the fabric!)

How about some oxycodone? It won't remove the stain but you won't care. emoticon

Well, I used as directed after c-section (and didn't crush and snort) but I couldn't stand the stuff. Gave me a humongo headache and nausea. I couldn't WAIT to get off them.

I heard on one of the HGTV shows this morning that toothpaste and a scrub sponge are good for getting crayons off walls.

Re: I need stain removal help!!!

My wonderful sister-in-law gave my 6 year old a brand new tube of lipstick. She puts it on in the car before her summer camps, and I have thought nothing of it. Completely harmless, no?

So, anyway, I realize the other day that she is wiping the lipstick from her lips and wipes her hands on the upholstered seat. I mean, the seat is COVERED in smeared lipstick.

On a website, it says to used toothpaste to remove it. This seems weird to me. Anyone else?

Yikes.

I would think anything that removes crayon would work (waxy, oily dye stains...).

Try Windex. It took Sharpie marker out of a beige carpet. (But not dry erase marker off a comforter).
