MAKING OUR GRIEVANCIES HEARD AT MEDICOM

I know a lot of us are getting concerned about the fragility of the Medicom RAH 301 body. Some of us have had minor tradgedies and TWkamen had 6 break! You can read the sorry tale unfolding here:-
http://com5.runboard.com/bmedicom.f6.t12090

We're spending a lot of money on these figures and I for one think at the prices Medicom figures demand they should be virtualy indestructable.
Any way we're trying to let Medicom know it's an issue we'd like resolved so if you can, fire off an email to both these addresses:-

shigenobu@medicomtoy.co.jp
info1.6@medicomtoy.co.jp

Lets try a little people power...next step civil disobedience...YAY!

Here's the letter I sent:-

Hello
I'm a collector and some time reviewer of 1/6 scale figures. I'm also a member of a couple of 1/6 discussion forums, one of which being Medi-world-

http://com5.runboard.com/bmedicom

A concern that has arisen amongst many of our members is that the RAH 301 body seems to have a few weaknesses, especially at the hip, shoulder and ankle. I myself had the hip break on the Comic Spider-man, but was lucky enough to have it replaced by my retailer. The members of the forum are serious adult collectors who treat your fantastic products with much care, and don't expect them to break if handled properly. We would like to know if this issue is already under review, and if you have plans to improve the quality of the plastics used?
I fear many people will stop collecting for fear of their very expensive figures falling apart and becoming worthless, and we at Medi-World would hate to see this happen.
I look forward to your response.
Kind regards
Jeff Parker

I then followed with some links to old reviews.

Just got this reply, looks like pretty stock standard answer. I shall be following up by asking what improvements we can look forward to and do they have any policy for buyers with broken Medicom goods from over seas.

I still think it's worth as many of us as possable sending in our concerns, there's an old saying-
"it's the squeaky gate that gets oiled"
We need to start squeaking more!

Dear Sir

Thank you for your support and
advice
We will push ourselves even harder to improve out products.
Thanks again for your kind patronage

Re: MAKING OUR GRIEVANCIES HEARD AT MEDICOM

Well, here's the second letter I just fired off. I'm like a dog with a rag when I get started!

Hello Jun
Thank you for taking time to reply.
Is this a problem you are currently aware of and working on, as I say I consider myself a reasonably serious collector and admire your figures greatly, but I feel the price they go for means one should be able expect a solid reliable product that doesn't break when handled.
Some members of our forum, which is soley for collectors of 1/6 figures, especialy Medicom (hence the name) http://com5.runboard.com/bmedicom , have had multiple figures break, some with outfits that are impossible to remove, so the base figure can not be replaced without destroying the outfit, this is most notable on comic version Spider-man, which many have had break, myself included, meaning the only conclusion one can come to is that the plastics used in it's construction were not good enough.
Many of your upcoming figures look incredible like Boba and Jango Fetts, Lion-Maru to name but a few. But concerns are such that many people are becoming wary of buying a product that has to be shipped from over seas, and so if breaks is nearly impossible to get replaced unless you can afford a lot of expensive shipping.
So what our members are looking for is some kind of assurance that future products will be stronger, and we need to be able to contact someone in your customer services with problems about breakages, as at present their is no real provision.
And we don't feel it's a good enough answer, to say these products bought on the secondary market are beyond your remit. We are the people buying your product and on the whole letting people know how good it is. No product is of any use unless it has customers who want it. We at Medi-World want your products very much, but we want a stronger more reliable one.
Can you succinctly answer our concerns?
I look forward to your reply
Kind regards
Jeff Parker

Don't know how far we'll get, but we've all got to plug away. If you haven't sent an e-mail yet, please do to the address above.

Well, my first e-mail was sent on the 12th and I had a reply the following day. My second email was sent on the 14th, over a week ago! but this time no reply. I wonder if when I wrote-
"Meaning the only conclusion one can come to is that the plastics used in its construction were not good enough"
Might’ve hit a nerve. I'd be interested to know if they had big problems in Japan with comic Spidey, as I'm sure a Japanese persons statutory rights would mean Medicom might have had to replace or refund many people. I personally think all the RAH series needs to have a new base plastic used, but I think the red plastic used as the base for comic and 'God forbid' movie 3 spidey may be seriously flawed.

i think one way to let medicom heard our complain is start not to buy their products, if people still buying their stuff, while you guys keep complaining to them, they will ignore all of your complains.

if the sales was flop , that will be the time they will considering about our complains...\\

well it's just my opinion... emoticon
