After or Before Watching it ?

Hi guys....i am curious to know whether you pick up a fig after you have watch the show, read the book or you watch the show after you pick up the fig.

As for me I started with star wars but at that time I cant afford fig or rather not into figure yet. But going forward I do pick up fig that i like the sculpt and style before i go watch the show...eg patlabor, kerberos. But mostly i pick up the fig after watching the show...

Shoot guys...

For me, both and neither.

Both: Usually I get the figure b/c it looks cool, sometimes I get the figure b/c I know the story and just in the mood to buy a new figure.

Neither: Figure just looks great. For instance, never watched Captain Harlock or anything 'original' works such as Firespector or Ashley Wood stuff.

It's really split down the middle for me, Mywii.

I usually wont pick up a figure unless it's from a movie/cartoon/book/game/etc. that I really like, but picking up the figure from a property usually makes me dig a little deeper. For example, I had only ever seen Jin Roh, but after I got my Takara Kerberos I went out and bought the box set of the live action movies, so there's situations like that...

Kaido - you seems to be split in the middle. I was once like that when i started 6" but then one day i asked myself what am I doing as I have quite some figs. Then I decided to focus or some people call it streamline. My main is SW. The rest if only I really like it..meaning asking myself to think thrice emoticon Moving then to 12" in a way helps me do that becoz its just too costly to grab everything I fancy...

Drac- I know wat you mean. I got Jin roh too without even seeing the show. I am still trying to look for the show but unable to find it locally..

i only collect figs from movies i love. or characters i love from not so great movies. if that makes sense. i completely understand getting a fig just coz it looks cool though. that's a true figure collector. i'm just getting 12" stuff to decorate the walls of my eventual cinema room. but i'm glad i'm focusing, otherwise i'd be in serious serious debt.

I'm a little bit of both

Sometimes, I see something that is cool, I would buy the toy first, then look for the show/film/manga/comic etc...

But most of the time it's after watching it.

It's not very healthy though, I end up buying too much stuffs, with no space to keep them.
