Looks like the Fellowship is growing!
Very cool for those hobbit lovers, also cool because it opens the door for all other smaller characters.

For once I'm pleasantly suprised by Sideshow as I really didn't think they would bother making smaller bodies.
That said I'm still dubious as to how well the "little guys" from various franchises will turn out,the big head syndrome that plagues many of the regular sized 1/6 figures now needs sorting more than ever as it would look even more ridiculous on smaller figures and the clothing will have to be a lot better tailored too.
It's a positive move by Sideshow but with Medicom expanding their VCD line by making more realistic looking characters such as Yoda & Wicket as opposed to the previous Super Deformed style I think they will be fighting an uphill battle to make comparable Star Wars characters,the LOTR figs may turn out OK though.

i hope the head sculpts are good. i would love a couple of hobbits. i don't have any of the lord of the rings figures yet because i wanted a decent aragorn, legolas and gimli and we don't have any yet.
still, sounds like SDCC might have lots of surprises and i'm very very excited - godfather, indy, hobbits, stormtroopers ... the show hasn't even started and we already have some amazing news!

Not an LOTR fan myself.
Still I'm interested in seeing what the SDCC Hobbits end up looking like, as the bodies will no doubt pave the way for Jawa or Yoda from their SW line

I love LOTR, but my intrest in anyone other than Aragorn and Legolas is minimal, still like seeing the characters that come out though.

Judging from that pic of the Hobbits,that body will be too big for Yoda. I'm not sure as to whether SSC will make fur "suits" for the Ewoks and put them on that body either.The following SW characters should be possible though,
Boba Fett from AOTC ( I really hope Medicom do a VCD to go with Jango 'cos I don't trust SSC not to screw it up )
