Re: Hot Toys-TDK-Tumbler-Batpod and new suit-pics and full spec

Great pics, and looks amazing. I was not sure about buying these, but I also knew that as soon as pics started coming up, and specially pics of the box, I knew I was gonna end up buying it. As of now, I am still trying to hold up; but between Terminator Salvation, The Predator Movie, Iron Man, plus my Macross and Chogokin collections, It is too much.

But... at the same time how can someone resist. Up to now I have the whole Hot Toys Batman TDK collection. All 5 of them, I am only missing MMSDX01 Joker, I even ended buying the Batpod. So from a completist point of view... I need to buy the tumbler just to finish my collection.

Now I have another problem, actually two of them; and I bet most of you have them.

Problem 1: Mon dieu... how big is the box going to be?...
As of now, with all 12" figures (which I own aproximately ~36), plus my Yamato Macross boxes that are also huge... I have too many boxes, and I don't have space. The biggest box I have is the Darth Vader VCD oversize, that almost matches my transformers Fortress Maximus box, around 26 inches tall. I thank god that I have an understanding wife, but how long will she support me and my expensive, and space consuming hobby. Which goes to...

Problem 2: How are we supposed to display this piece?
Come on guys, have you seen the size of this thing? It is almost like 2 skateboards side to side. I don't have a shelf deep enough to put this on display. So... where should it go? Maybe on a coffee table (which the tumbler would occupy completely), or on my dining table... that by the way my wife wouldn't like that idea so much; and i refuse to put it on the floor, it would be too overlooked. I thought maybe somehow hang it from a wall, like a plasma display or a painting. That way it would not steal so much precious real state in my apartment, and you could get a top view of all the detail.

Any of you guys that are getting this, got any ideas about displaying it?, or what to do with the box?... or am I part of a select group of people who saves all the boxes from their toys?

By the way, sorry for the long post...

Rarra, don't be sorry for the long post, I personally love reading them!

Space is a continual issue. Solutions would be to rent storage space. Or else have a corner in the house that looks ultra messy which is what I have currently... also, all the closets in my house have some of my empty boxes and not-empty boxes. As for displaying the Tumbler if you don't have a shelf deep enough, could you display it slightly tilted on the side wheels at an angle?

I have to admit, I'm thinking a great way to display it would be to put some heavy duty picture wire attached to the chassis somehow, then hang it like a canvas on a wall... instant pop art, dusting nightmare though!

yess, since this is kinda important for such a big thing, I have saved the numbers on my pc emoticon

Approximate Product size: 73 x47 28 cm ( L x W x H )
Approximate Packaging size: 83 x 57 x 38 cm ( L x W x H )

(dunno where I got it from, it was a long time ago, but the numbers shouldn't be to far off)

EXACTLY! emoticon

Mount it on the wall.

Other option- what lots of guys do with their huge 1/6 helicopters- hang it with some fish wire.

Something so it looks like it in a mid-jump barrel-roll with Bats diving out of it. They even say in the movie it was made to jump over rivers.

But i dont think the dusting is the nightmare. Its the securing. If this thing falls off your wall or from suspended high in the room- its done for.

LOL this is a big thing with measurements 73 x47 28 cm, if you hang it on a fish wire I predict desaster will happen.
Only an idiot would hang a collectible this big and this expensive with some fishwire.. emoticon

But if you reaaaly GOT to hang it on the ceiling, why not use cables made of steel, also many people use this to hang a number of model plains on to their ceilings.
Much better and much more reliable.
