Re: Hot Toys - MMS 96- Goemon 1/6th scale Goemon Ishikawa spec and pics
Btw, Wooks, referring to your 'poisonous' review at MWC, Hot Toys have made a metal sword before. Do you remember "Firespecter," the gothic sci-fi firefighter by Hot Toys? His huge axe and the sword were metal.
Goemon and his buddy Saito are on my List. Hope to be able to score both by end of this week!
In the end, the ankle articulation of the boots sold me. I hope the dark ninja has that too (I'm sure it will).

I'm hoping the boots will be similar.
I remember Firespecter, great looking figure, but wasn't that a Winson Ma production, I think HT just distributed... not sure though, could be wrong.

You're right, it was a 'special' release figure, like Copperhead-18. However, I think it was manufactured by HT, at least that's what it says on the box.
Btw, another new Apexplorer figure from Winson Classic Creation going to be released.
Okay, I just completed my order for Goemon and Saizo! Hope they do not disappoint in hand as that's $310 I just laid down!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 96- Goemon 1/6th scale Goemon Ishikawa spec and pics
So both figures came in for me; Saizo's QC is pretty much perfect, but my Goemon has loose ankles like HunterD1's.
Is this the first time HTs has used an extra moulded hair piece? It has its pros and cons, doesn't it? It looks nice as the details peek out of the cracks of the hair, but the way they painted the hair piece makes it shiny and look obviously like plastic. Perhaps HT should have used a more matte paint for the figures?
Anyway, two fantastic figures... now where did I put my crazy glue?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 96- Goemon 1/6th scale Goemon Ishikawa spec and pics
So guys, my Goemon Ishikawa had just been sitting in a corner in the bedroom as I hadn't had a chance to buy a new brush on tube of Krazy Glue. Finally, today my wife brought some home for me and I went to work on repairing my Ishikawa's ankles.
What I found shocked me.
His ankles weren't just loose, his feet were actually cracked!! To the point that they were breaking! This is Hot Toys we're talking about, we expect this from Medicom, not Hot Toys! I tried to glue them shut anyway, and one foot had some success, but the other one was gone. Everytime I popped that ball joint back in, it would stress enough to open up.
Checked my receipt: November 2! Holy ****, caught this three days before Hot Toys ignores you forever!
So rest of the evening I've been photographing, scanning receipts, writing email to Hot Toys' Customer Service... All you Goemon Ishikawa owners, and all you future Goemon Ishikawa owners, make sure to check your ankles!!
Btw, Saizo's ankles have been improved and no issues there.

That's crazy lucky about your receipt, Kaido! I hope HT sends you a replacement. By the way, 'anybody else think it's hilarious how our expectations of Medi's quality control are so much lower than ours of HT's?

I have liquid epoxy resin than glue stuff back together stronger than the material that is being glued together... used to repair Medi's brittle shoulders and feet.. and HT's fragile knee joints (In the process of repairing another knee joint).
I even repair refrigerator plastic trays that broke in 2... more or less like new.

BeastX, what brand name epoxy resin is it? I will hunt one down too, just in case for future issues.
Meanwhile, DAY ONE, no word from Hot Toys so far.
