Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
yeah thanks guys. this looks to be a cool figure. And now that I've read Jun's post that this is the guy who played L in Death Note, you can tell the likeness is really good! I hope the movie is good.

Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
at first i thought it might be related to goemon, since the costume and face looked a little like teenage goemon. but nope, whole other movie.

Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
I thought it had to do with an 80's anime called "Dagger of Kamui", since the story is very similar (ninjas and all). Also, it was based on a novel, or series of them.

Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
Kamui was a manga as well, translated by Viz. It was one of my first intros to manga.
They kept going 'Kawarimi!' ninja magic and change into a log in the manga.

Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
I have the dagger of Kamui anime on Videocassette. I won't part with it either. The character was a young boy very tanned of skin and scrawny. Looked nothing like this character. The Anime was very epic about 2 hours long.

Re: HT Kamui Gaiden
I'll be sure to try and check out the anime if I can... Hunter D1, do you play Xbox 360? In the game Tenchu Z, you can customize your character's look and for most of the game I designed a character extremely similar to Kamui. Hopefully Kamui Gaiden will be less style and more substance, but from the advertisements, I think it looks cheesy. I wish they made this into an anime.
Actually, I haven't enjoyed many of these recent Japanese live action movies. Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, Casshern, and most recently Masked Rider: The First didn't wow me and had a campy b-movie feel to them.
However, I do have a stack of some samurai epic DVDs I have yet to watch including the Hidden Blade, Twilight Samurai, and When the Last Sword is Drawn.
I'd also recommend Sword of the Stranger anime, recently released.
