Nobody Seeing Any DVD's Lately

Thought this would make a nice sister thread to the Nobody Seeing Any Movies Lately thread that was created a while back by Redwing.

That thread generated alot of talk about the different movies we all love and why we love em, so I thought this thread could do the same for DVD's.

This is the place to talk about anything you have seen recently on DVD, be it television, movies, anime, anything you're watching at the moment.

I'm just coming to the end of series five of The Shield. Came to this show really late on (someone leant us the first three seasons just before Christmas) but we've flown through them and even gone on to pick up the series four and five box sets.

Love Forrest Whittakers' Internal Affairs bad guy Kavanaugh, can't wait to see if he's gonna prove Vic and the Strike Team are crooked and send them down. I get the impression Vic's gonna be sticking around but the others might not be so lucky.

Anyone else watch this show?

If not talk about whatever other DVD's you've bought and watched at the moment.

The most recent DVD's I've bought are Classic Doctor Who story The Time Warrior which was the debut of the Sontarans and Sarah Jane Smith.
I also got the Rambo Trilogy to refamiliarise myself with the character before I see the new movie.

We have a second hand bric a brac market in town on Friday, so last week I picked up Tomb Raider 2, 'cradle of life' and Timeline (based on a Michael Crichton book) both were bad...50p each...shouldn't grumble but I'll never get that 4 hours back again.
Also finally got round to Transformers, great FX but as I have always said Bay 'CAN NOT DIRECT FOR FREAKIN TOFFEE!' Cheez, what a waisted opportunity.
Also saw 1401, twas OK.

Bought The Shining on Blu-ray a few days ago. I still prefer the book, but Kubrick's film is still one of the better horror flicks I've seen.

Bought all 3 seasons of Batman Beyond dvds recently and finally managed to get volume three of BTAS.
Now, I finally have the whole collection of two of my fav batman animated series.

Hopefully one day, we get to see a live action Batman Beyond movie. Man I love this show! emoticon

Bought Rendition, American Gangster, The Assination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and We Own the Night the past few weeks. The only one I've watched though is Rendition. It started slow but get better as it goes, still pretty good and worth a viewing.

Batman Beyond was a pretty good show but we only ever got the first season on terrestrial television in the UK so I've not seen much of it.

I was thinking of picking up the Region One DVD's myself as I've a multi region player and I've watched some of the later episodes on You Tube.

Wookster, I've not gotten around to seeing Transformers as yet but I've heard the film has it's problems, a colleague of mine hates Shia La Bouf.

To be fair, it kind of does exactly what it says on the tin, La Bouf was OK, but it was just dissapointing. And Michael Bay is a crap director IMHO.

I refuse to watch the new Transformers movie largely because I hate the robot designs. Only Optimus Prime looks anything like his G1 form and after reading that the TF's also take a back seat to the human characters I lost all intrest. Instead of messing about with live action they should have took the animated original and remade it entirely in CGI. There's a small section of the Optimus Prime/Megatron battle that's been done like this as part of Hasbro's advertising for one of the new toy ranges and it looks fantastic emoticon emoticon
