My First VCD 1/6 Death Note Ryuuk
Wasn't planning on getting this at first, cos it was a mailaway and the price given by my retailer was $290SGD.
But well, luckily sideshow carried this item over and another retailer got this it from them.
Was able to get this at $198SGD after members discount. Couldn't resist, as I need this figure to complete my Death Note collection.
This VCD actually has a little bit of mixed media going on, with real fur, a chain ear ring and some weird hard fabric for its skirt.
Sculpting and details are very nicely done and they included an apple as an accessory.
Overall, Im pretty impressed with this VCD. Despite the lack of playability, I actually quite like it and its really nice on display.
Hopefully, this will be my last VCD...if not my bank account & GF (she still doesn't know I bought it, yet :P) is not gonna be very happy with me.

lol!
I know what you mean... sitting in front of the computer all day is really dangerous, what with all the online shops.
Lessee, $200 next week for Deunan, charged $300 on a DVD, HD-DVD & graphic novel shipment from Amazon last night, preorders on Goku & Kenshiro... yup I'm done for the April, May, & June!
I also find taking time & looking at other people's pics over & over can sometimes diminish craving somewhat, or once in a while makes me want the figure even more!

Tell me about it, I have so many preorders theres not a month where I dont have a new figure coming in.
I've already streamline my collection, only buying certain stuff but its still not working very well.

Man, i really want to get that figure to complete my Death Note collection too.
I know how you feel with the budget, i was saveing up to get Ryuk last month, but then i ended up spending it on the 12 inch Bankai Ichigo and the new Final Fantasy figures of Cloud, Tifa and Aerith.
Wont be able to save for it the next month or two, because now i have to save up for the Download festival and Goku. 
Might sell off a few figures to get Ryuk, not intierly sure yet,. Would you say he's worth it, Jun?

Hmm...I got him mainly because I wanted to complete my Death Note 1/6 collection and I like ryuuk's character enough to actually buy such an expensive figure.
The best thing bout the figure is it looks aesthetically pleasing.It's really just an amazing piece for display and looks really good next to the Death Note gang. As a huge fan of the manga, I say this is the best representation of Ryuuk to date. (of cos, it would be even better if they included his wings)
On the short side, you really can't have much fun with him due to the lack of poseability. But if you can look pass the lack of fun and appreciate him for a nice display figure, I say get him. If not, save your money for other figures that you can have more fun with.
Ahh...I got the FF figs too. Im still on the bench for the upcoming red XIII, vincent,yuffie & sephiroth figs...being a completist is not easy.
Hope your able to get more money!

Guh, as much as i want to get this figure, i'm gona have to pass on him for now. Got to much comeing out this year, Goku, SS Goku, Kusanagi, Raiden, Joker, Iron Man. Being a collector isn't cheap.
I just hope it doesn't do the same as the Alphonse VCD and rocket up in price in a few months, if it doesn't, i may pick it up next year.
