New Forum FAQ

Q: Why move the forum off the Mobicon site?
A: It's more secure. Since the forum isn't on the main site, even if it gets hacked it won't affect the Mobicon.org site. Plus Runboard updates their own software, so there's no security patches to install, the most common way sites with PHP message boards get hacked.
Q: Do I have to re-register?
A: Unfortunately, yes. There was no way to get around that with the transfer to Runboard.
Q: What about the old topics?
A: They're being copied and pasted over as we have the time to. On the plus side, there's a lot less clutter now.
Q: I tried registering, and my username was already taken/it said I was already registered/I couldn't get it to work.
A: Since Runboard doesn't have a local account feature, you have to register for a global account, one that gives you access to any board on their system. More than likely the username you chose was already being used by someone else, so try a slightly different one by adding numbers, words, etc.
