Rebel - Re-elect Jim Kalb
Whaddya mean, re-elect Jim Kalb? He may not be around in 2009. Did you get a look at him at last council meeting. Jim is not well; he came in late and had trouble holding his head up during the meeting.
The Portsmouth Daily Times ran his photo along with photos of three alert looking men at the Council table.
Jim should change physicians or find one if he is not already on presecriptions.
Also, with his double-cross of Lee Scott on the Columbia the people may have him recalled this year, and Howie Baughman may be Mayor.
Jim, if he is still around will have competition for the $60,000 a year part-time job next election: Howie Baughman can work part-time and still test mattresses at Covert Furniture. Dave Malone also wants the job. He has already made good money working his church and for the guys that run the city, but being Mayor would be perfect for him; he would more time for his extra pursuits.
Kelvin Johnson will be a likely candidate. He shown
his prowess in his last business failure at the Emporium. And don't forget Mike Mearan. He can always use more money to rent autos for his employees in the drug transport capers.
But we can't wait for next election. Kalb is slipping fast.

MAYORAL CAMPAIGN GEARING UP-----------.
How many signatures would one need to get on the ballot for Mayor? Just checking............ 6 Candidates last time and can elected officials in office Run or have to resign?
Are there any other females in the wings, maybe the
Art Lady who did the only writing for the CBC's new proposal? She'd be good at programming or dictation?

What the Mayor can do Post City Employment---
There is testimony from one's who were cashiers, about Everest Institute on CW 30 that the Mayor can go there and get a degree and start a career. He could start right away and get the city to pay his tuition, books and expenses and he can go on City Time, was there anything missed?
We need this local boy to still make it big, No? Does he still pay the co-pay on the insurance whose surplus funding is bailing out the operating general fund..............
Little Jack Corner, or is it Horner?..........................

Re: For Lee Scott.....
On a serious note I would just like to say how sad it is that we save nothing .I know we can't nor should we live in the past, but we should save something of our history. How are we to know where we come from and where we're going without HISTORY. On the back wall of the Columbia was the last remembrance of the "CAMEO" Restaurant. When that comes down only us old guys will remember. Like the N&W Passenger station, the D.A.R , and all the rest. Just gone. Then you have our Council and Mayor working their tail off to save a square block building. So sad.
Thank you Lee for trying.
