Campaign to move Moonlight to another network!
As I have said, my loyalty is to Moonlight.... not to CBS. I will watch Moonlight no matter when or where it airs! Let's campaign to move our show to another network. A new home that will appreciate it. Since Warner Bros Television owns & produces Moonlight, they can sell it to any network. We need to urge them to shop it around. At the same time, we should encourage other television networks to pick up what CBS has shortsightedly dropped. FX seems like a great fit to me. Alex O'Loughlin is already known there from his great role as Det Kevin Hiatt on The Shield :) Of course, we are open to ANY tv network that is smart enough to pounce on Moonlight.
Let the WB know we will follow Moonlight!

Hey Kandyegirl, Ive sent feedback to the WB tellin them that I will follow Moonlight to any network that will air it. Thanks for the ideas to keep us goin!!!!! The news of Moonlights cancellation made me cry. Now instead of sittin around cryin and not helpin my show I am doin somethin!!!!!!!! You are the best 8-) Lyssa

We've had an update from Nikki at Deadline Hollywood Daily. She has heard rumors that there is a CHANCE for Moonlight to move to the CW network. *fingers crossed*
Primetime Pilot Panic: 'Moonlight' To CW?
EXCLUSIVE: I've just been told by an insider that "there is a chance, only a chance" that Media Rights Capital which will be programming Sunday's two hours on the CW "may elect to take Moonlight as one of those two hours". This is developing to be quite a behind-the-scenes drama because the order came from Warner Bros TV this afternoon to start tearing the Moonlight sets down. But now WBTV will wait until Friday. With 8 million viewers on CBS before being cancelled, Moonlight could wind up the most watched CW show. (Gossip Girl has 2.5 mil...)

I haven't had any problems or heard from anyone else having issues with emailing the WB. Did the same thing happen when you tried again?

I haven't had that problem no. I used both the feedback and the paul.mcguire email address.
Sorry if I sound down but I actually only heard of the news this afternoon and am barely recovering from the shock and moving into the depression stage (not passive, don't worry). Only a few hours ago I felt completely confident that renewal was in the bag, so... I've been crying like a baby most of the evening.
I do need to ask: how final would it be for the show if they "tear down the sets" you think? The mere thought of that just breaks my heart. If CW doesn't pick up, it will probably take a while before a cable network steps in even if one does, what do you think?

Kandye if you see this please post it on your blog. I just received this from Christine Contilli from Blood Drive for Moonlight (maybe you already know?)
HOWEVER: GOOD NEWS!
Our publicist has touched base with the President of both the SciFi channel and USA Network and they wanted
to discuss it further. SciFi is EXTREMELY interested!
What we need fans to do is to go over to either Kandygirl's or Help Save Moonlight Mypace sites and get the list of Moonlight's past and present advertisers from them.
Call the toll free numbers and tell them that you have purchased their products BECAUSE they were the ones keeping our show paid for!
Tell them you are getting together a pledge list of fans who will pledgeto buy their products if they will contact the SciFi channel and commit to paid advertising for the show if it gets picked up!
Call or email the SciFi channel and tell them you want to see them pick up Moonlight!

My wrist is sore from addressing all of those post cards lol, but I hardly feel it, as I am really encouraged by the unified front we're presenting, and the hopeful tidbits today. Keep up the good work, everyone!

I have a couple of ideas regarding what ELSE we could tell the networks aside from the obvious.
Now I realise that this may sound crazy, but, but... I kinda believe that it is worth it.
I am just going to paste this from my www.renewmoonlight.com site.
Kandye, if you read this and you like the idea(s), by all means run with it! I am still unsure whether or not you get my e-mails...
Here goes:
if you are on board for this, this is the idea, AND START
BY EMAILING CW ABOUT IT ASAP AND AS HIGHEST
PRIORITY. (we have no idea when they will reach their
decision, it might be, like, now, and we want them to
actually HEAR that message loud and clear BEFORE then!!!
(in red: what I suggest you say,
in black: my own comments as to why)
Tell the Networks that you want to help them attract advertisers
to their network if they pick up the show;
that one way you would do this would be to use banners /
pictures of the show that would also have, at the bottom, a line
indicating that a certain company sponsors the show /
advertises a certain product during the show. You are willing to
use these on forums and on your myspace / facebook profiles,
in order to reach an audience for those products BEYOND OUR FAN-BASE, and a YOUNG audience at that.
(CW in particular and its advertisers like young people; that happens. Like that demo info CBS gathered today? Personally I'm guessing that was why, and that will influence CW's decision, no doubt about that)
Mentioning that our fan-base was able to gather 10 million
votes for Moonlight's PCA award on a site that allowed voting only once a day can't hurt either if you are feeling courageous, but you want to insist on what YOU are willing to do for THEM.
(don't try and convince them that the core of the fan base is 10 million people! Let's not insult their intelligence + sound stupid here! They are big enough to do the maths)
PLUS: If you are the proud owner of a website, you can also suggest to advertise these companies' products on your
website for free by the more traditional forms of advertisement.
Offering to attract the site's visitors attention by stating
explicitly that these companies sponsor Moonlight would be good, too.
(yes, I have already told them that myself. I'm just hoping somebody heard it!)
In essence, we are volunteering to offer free advertisement to
sponsors/advertisers, in order to make Moonlight attractive to them for
EXTRA reasons BESIDES ratings.
