broken rear wheel stud removal

Hi all,
I'm very new to this site and wondering if anyone can help.
I have a 91 pajero 2.5tdi swb it has two broken studs on the drivers side rear wheel hub, I have had a go at trying to remove them myself but to no avail. All I managed to do wa remove the entire half shaft due to there being a thin metal disk and a cog behind the hub.
If someone has or knows how to remove this then please feel free to offer advise.
Many thanks
Nathen
