Pajero AT mode AT switch

The A/T switch is beside the gear lever. It allows you to select a gear range suited to different driving conditions.

The 3 selectable positions are Power, Hold and Auto.

When POWER is selected, a power light illuminates on the dash. With the gear lever in D, power operates through gears 1 to 3, plus overdrive. If 2 is selected, power operates through 1-2. If L is selected, power operates in first gear only.

When HOLD is selected, a hold light will illuminate on the dash. The vehicle will operate in economy mode throughout the full range of gears, without changing higher than the gear you have selected.

When in AUTO mode, the gears automatically operate between economy and power, to automatically best suit driving conditions.
