Heater blowing cold air

Cold heater: A customers Pajero heater was blowing cold air. And we still need the heat at the moment! Fortunately, it was nothing serious and easily fixed.

The rod that controls the heater flap had detached.

Undo the screws from the passenger footwell air duct. Pull down any cardboard cover. Look at the front of the centre console. You’ll see white plastic gears and a short slim, grooved rod, which are part of the heater unit. The rod should be connected into the gears, to control the heater flaps. The rod can detach from the white clip. If it’s not sitting in the clip, simply re-connect it.
