pajero 2.8 D fuel problem
hope someone can shed light on this.... for some time my pajero has been starting ok them dieing on me like its getting no fuel. Only happens if its stood for a while , say overnight or all day while i'm at work.
This happens several times before it finally runs ok. Lots of blue smoke whilst its struggling to get going.
My mechanic thinks there's air getting in the fuel via a hardended seal and will need a new pump or injection system (very expensive) i really enjoy my pajero and would hate to give up on it but would like some opinions before i decide how proceed ?

Re: pajero 2.8 D fuel problem
I agree with your mechanic, it does sound like air in the fuel, commonly this is due to perished/hardened diesel pump front seal or a problem with a fuel line.
