Allow me to introduce myself ...

... Tom Ligon, the SF writer, not the actor. I've had about a dozen stories published in Analog over the years, starting around 1984.

I was Googling my name to see if my new website had been noticed yet when I encountered one of my aviation stories together with something I do in my day job. Just too much serendipity to pass up.

Look me up at tomligon.com for a more detailed writing bio.

So, somebody said this is a writer's forum?

Hello and welcome, Tom. It'll be nice to have somebody around with an experienced point of view on the art and the industry. Most of us are aspiring writers, while a few of us have had some success.

Hello Tom,

welcome on board! I'm glad google showed that combination for you.

To have several stories in Analog, is quite a feat. emoticon I'm sure you could teach us a few tricks here.

Welcome Tom. You'll make friends quickly quoting one of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite SF authors, on your website. I too am a jack of many trades.

Analog is indeed a great mag to be in.

I couldn't agree more. I am a member of several writing boards, some with authors with long lists of very lofty publication credits, but I always return here. My friends are here, and it feels like home.

Was gonna say something cool but there goes the fire alarm. I swear I don't know why I let her cook.

Cool.

Charcoal sausages.

Nice to see you, Tom.

Blitzen, it sounds like your girl cooks as well as my Dad. We always called his grilling style "element number six" as kids!

And again, welcome, Tom. I hope you enjoy it here. And now that I'm back home again, I'll get to your email this weekend. Short version: yes, I'm interested in a copy of your story, if you've got one laying around. But like I say, I'll send you a real email once I'm home from work. (And thanks for the offer!)
