They claim to offer 17.000 free ebooks for download - I haven't counted them.

I would assume these are books that are in the public domain for one reason or the other. It's worth a look. I saw a lot of books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, for example.

That is 17,000 Firle. I use Gutenberg for free books - they have about 130,000 I think. They can be posted up in countries where the copyright laws allow them to be. The onus is on the person downloading to make sure the same laws apply in there country. You can be charged, they can't.

But still a great site.
