Call for Submissions: Way of the Wizard - March 2010
Thanks to an SFReader friend, I was led to this anthology that's asking for submissions:
Way of the Wizard - Guidelines
In short, they want stories with wizards, 5k words max, payment is 5c per word (!!) plus a contributer's copy and a share of earnings, deadline: March 2010.
Come on, guys! There's enough time that we could even do a workshop for this one!

Re: Call for Submissions: Way of the Wizard - March 2010
What is a "pinball wizard"? I don't know if I am in or not, I still have major "newbie nerves" about writing anything and have zero disciplines in place at the moment. Is it really possible to start at ground zero and get good enough to be considered in less than a year?

Ever since I was a young boy,
I've played the silver ball.
>From Soho down to Brighton
I must have played them all.
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In any amusement hall...
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pin ball !
He stands like a statue,
Becomes part of the machine.
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean.
He plays by intuition,
The digit counters fall.
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pin ball !
He's a pin ball wizard
There has got to be a twist.
A pin ball wizard,
got such a supple wrist.
'How do you think he does it? I don't know!
What makes him so good?'
He ain't got no distractions
Can't hear no buzzers and bells,
Don't see no lights a flashin'
Plays by sense of smell.
Always gets a replay,
I've never seen him fall...
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pin ball.
I thought I was
The Bally table king.
But I just handed
My pin ball crown to him.
Even my favourite table
He can beat my best.
His disciples lead him in
And he just does the rest.
He's got crazy flipper fingers
Never seen him fall...
That deaf dumb and blind kind
Sure plays a mean pin ball.!!!!!
LOL! It's a song by The Who circa 1969.
--- ...waiting patiently for a few submissions to come back.

Re: Call for Submissions: Way of the Wizard - March 2010
Huh. I totally missed this thread when you first posted it. Sorry about that.
I'd be willing to be in a workshop with wizards as a subject. I'm not sure if I'd want to submit to this anthology -- it'd depend on what I end up with -- but I'd be willing to try, if others are.

So that pays $250? For a 5k story?
I'll do a workshop - when we starting?

It's not clicky, though, sorry

I lost track of this, to be honest. And now NaNo is at our doors, so I suggest we'll pick this up in December.

Sounds like a good plan. Speaking of planing I'd better get busy.
--- I'd procrastinate now, but it would be easier tomorrow.
