Manuscript Format Magazines often state in their guidelines to "submit in standard manuscript format". Unfortunately, they only rarely spell out what they mean with this formula.
I have to admit that Courier 12 and double spaced looks ... gruesome. And yet, I got used to it after using it in all short stories right from the start. A template for the word processor is a handy thing.
