Writing goals for March

Granted, the month is half gone, but that only means you still have two weeks to go! I also haven't asked in a while, and to tell the truth, I no longer know what your pet projects are. So ...

What are your plans for this month? Any stories you are starting, editing, finishing?

Are you even contemplating a submission?

Do you have anything out there?

I'm working on my Eriadhin novel (mostly writing the history at the moment)

By the end of the month I would like to have at least one chapter of the history done, it'll be more like a novella with 3 chapters I think, but I'll call it chapter.

Editing Crystals... actually I think it needs a complete rewrite. emoticon
Writing anything I get the urge to, or editing anything I get the urge to.

My goal (probably for March AND April) is to finish the kids' story I've been writing. It's almost done -- I'm at the climax now -- and I know perfectly well how the climax and ending go. It's just a matter of sitting down and motivating myself to WRITE it.

Of course, my OTHER goal is to get my @*(%#&*ing complex FFT code to work and then go back to writing my dissertation. These two goals are in opposition to each other...

Oh no!

Just keep repeating to yourself: "I love technology. Technology is my friend." Over and over. (And then go bash in some other computer so you feel better.)

I can't really complain. It's just passed its 8th birthday, which is a better lifespan than most of my friends' computers.

I should have replaced it when the hard drive crashed the first time, six months ago, but I patched it up and carried on with crossed fingers. But it took a week to reconfigure everything back the way I like it and I just can't be bothered this time...

Awww. I hope you can find a new computer and get it configured in less that time.

Which system are you planning to use? (Taking the thread totally off topic, but who cares?)

Meadows: I'm still struggling to recover from my laptop dying in November. I've limped along from computer to computer but I think I've settled on the desktop in the basement for my writing computer. For now.

March: Well, I've been struggling with the Rainbow story and Dark Prophecy so I guess my goals are to continue to muddle along with that.

Not me, I'm afraid, but then I'm behind on other things as well. So I suppose I didn't really have all that much time. emoticon

Occasionally Firlefanz, occasionally. Admittedly I don't tend to manage one way or the other. emoticon

Well I got a new computer emoticon And I intended to start writing with it... honestly, I did... and I almost started too...

I rewrote several of my web pages in XHTML 1.1... that kind of counts as writing... doesn't it? emoticon

Re: Writing goals for March

Err... Well, I DID fix that stupid FFT code. That ought to count for something. And I taught myself the basics of Latex, a technical, UNIX-based word processor. I even started typing the intro for my dissertation (or, mostly, transfering it over from Word). So that's all good, right?

Alas, I think I only got 1-2 chapters of fun writing done. And since it' s a kids' story, those were pretty short chapters. What can I say. I got distracted!

Since my goal was to muddle, I did very well. I didn't make much progress in writing but planning was progressed, at least.

Well, that does sound pretty good!

You all did something that you wanted to do, even if you might have done less than you imagined. However, you made progress!

Congrats are in order! Well done, folks!
