Yikes!
I was writing away when, wham! My computer froze.  Nothing I tried made it work again, so with a heavy heart I shut it off and watched nearly 800 words disappear. Words that just flowed without me having to fight for each one. Words that I knew were good. But what can you do?
I finally got the stupid computer working again and opened the program I'd writing in, thinking that I might be able to recapture some of the ideas before they disappeared. And a box pops up telling me it auto-saved my work and would I like to load this version? Are you kidding me? Yes!!! I didn't even know the program did that, but am I glad it does!
Needless to say, I saved my work as soon as possible...and copied it to my flash drive. Take
that computer! Muhhahahaa!

I always work with autosave, set to 10 minutes.
Maybe you could set it like that, Trying?

Well, I always save when I'm done, Reythia. But when the words are flowing I'm not even aware of time, just the world in my head. 
Good idea, Firle! I normally use Word, do you know if it has auto save?

Yes, Word has an autosave. I'll check where it is at work, but you can find it in the settings somewhere. (I use Open Office here at home.)
