Story in Wiki Discussion Format

This is a great little story that I enjoyed very much. And it's "written" in a very unusual style:

Wikihistory at Abyss and Apex

I'd be very interested to hear what you think about it.

Re: Story in Wiki Discussion Format

Interesting way to write a story. The story got a few chuckles out of me as well as pointing out a problem that I've notice with time travel stories. You start messing with the past which changes the present, so you don't react the same way to the past, so you might change something differently, changing you even more... ugh, makes my brain hurt!

Wow, that was really quite good. You can almost imagine that they might use indirect communications in the future for such a thing. emoticon

I just read it again, and I really think the thing I love most about it is the voices of the characters, especially SilverFox. It just feels so REAL. I'm still in awe. emoticon

It does feel real. So much so that at first I didn't realise that it was a story.
I thought perhaps it was a discussion area for a joint story. Luckily that silly thought went away before it ruined the story for me. emoticon

Hi; as the author of said story, I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments. Wikihistory was my first publication, and I'm really gratified by all the positive feedback.

Cheers,

Re: Story in Wiki Discussion Format

Thanks much. Since the sale, I've been obsessively googling myself (a process made very easy by the story's odd title and my unusual name) to gauge reactions, and they've been pretty positive, sometimes almost ascribing to the piece actual literary merit (I have no such pretensions; it's a gag story and nothing more, albeit a pretty good one).

Hopefully some of my other tales presently making the rounds will catch some editors' eyes and I'll be able to call myself a writer with fewer traces of sarcasm...

Thanks again,
Desmond

Desmond, you ARE a writer. You have one story sale under your belt, after all. emoticon

Keep writing those stories and sending them out. You'll find some resources here, as well. Feel free to gripe when you have to, or share your successes. I'm looking forward to seeing you getting published again.
