 *cries* Make it go away!
Okay, I'm going crazy! Well, crazier.
My band (think Boston Pops, not Aerosmith) is playing a concert consisting totally of Star Trek music at the end of October. This is cool (in my opinion) because I love Star Trek in general and also because the music is just simply gorgeous.
However, it ALSO means that I have ST music running through my head 24 hours a day! ARGH!!!
I do NOT like even the "Voyager" theme that much! And I am definitely sick of "Amok Time" going through my head and chopping at brain cells with those chincy plastic weapons that Kirk and Spock used.
So if you hear about a girl who goes postal on her band director in Texas, that'll be me!

Yes! But I have to do it in a Star Trek costume. Yes, that's right, costumes are REQUIRED for band members (and encouraged for audience members). I'm thinking about going as an Andorian (blue guys, antennae). Do Andorians carry mail pouches, you think?

I HAVE ANTENNAE! THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!!
*ahem* Okay, better. Well, slightly. But I DID make my Andorian costume and it's going to be really awesome. The antennae (hand-made of a headband, floral wire, blue modelling clay, and a bit of paint) are terrific. I'm really proud of them. Also, I got a shirt that's sort of chainmail-y looking from Goodwill, and white hairspray. My friend Katie agreed to come coat my face, neck, and arms in blue-silver makeup on the night of the concert. I'm really pumped. I LOVE Halloween!
Also, I cajoled my stand partner into going as a Trill (like Jadzia Dax in DS9). Once I told her that we could make it work with just an eye pencil, she was all for it. Probably because she knew if she didn't say yes, I'd find something MUCH worse for her to go as! ;-)

The costuming and stuff sounds like a lot of fun 
On a purely musical note though, I'd much prefer doing a Star WARS concert rather than a star TREK concert.

I don't know, LoudG. Star Trek music is really pretty. Even in the shows/movies that weren't particularly good (*cough* Voyager *cough*), the music is excellent. Star Wars is good too, but everyone's played that a zillion times before. This is a nice change.
Plus, I couldn't be an Andorian in Star Wars!

ARGH! Noooooo! Besides, there's no way I could get my hair to do those buns!
Don't worry. Yesterday after rehearsal, we were talking about costumes. Patrick (the director), and Laura (another flute) are apparently as Trekky as I am. Somehow the topic got onto Counselor Troi, and then merged with someone else's discussion about their wedding, and the comment Arvis (another flute) made about not being able to find a proper costume. All the sudden all three of us Trekkies informed Arvis, "Well, you could always go as a Betazoid and come naked!"
...The director kicked himself out at that point. There's only so much Trekkiness can should safely exist in one room at a time, and we were quickly approaching it!
Besides, Arvis had refused our suggestion, for some reason! She also now thinks we're very odd.
I just looked up "Betazoid" on Google to make sure I spelled it right, and the VERY top entry on the auto-fill is "betazoid wedding" (that being the naked kind). SHEESH, people!
