I got a free lunch today! A gal at the office had put her business card in at a sandwich place and won ten of us free lunches. emoticon For a grad student, nothing is better news than free food! emoticon

Yesterday, the gardenia I bought on Wednesday opened its first flower. (Corv, it's a new one, not the one from the office.)

As it's sitting next to my desk on the windowsill I can breathe in that lovely scent and hope it'll make me think of good things.

I am newly-focused on writing. I started working on a rewrite for Resurrection that, when I'm done, I'm actually going to start throwing around to publishers.

That's great news, hadaad! Wonderful, you go!

I had a scary dream yesterday, but when I figured out what it meant, I knew it was all right.

Today, I made a little present for a collegue.

She wanted money for her birthday (to buy a golf club), and so I built a little golf green for her, out of a cardboard box covered with green crepe paper. It had nine "holes", with the flagpoles carrying the individual bank notes that had been donated by our department (two poles had flags that read "Happy Birthday").

I forgot to take a picture, but she loved it. emoticon

German spam, yes. Telling you to click somewhere because you have "the chance" of winning a cabrio.

Barely. emoticon

Today, in the new class I'm taking, I met another writer. It was rather cool to be able to discuss problems related to writing, from a psych angle.

I thought this was a good things thread, not the bad things or creepy things thread..., or am I misunderstanding something here? emoticon

Something very good happened today:

QS2 agreed to be a moderator - or rather a shepherd for this board.

Thanks, QS!

The good thing is that don't have to go to work today.

The bad thing about that is, it's because I called in sick with a migraine. emoticon

I'm using the leftovers as excuse to stay home today as well (here I can miss two days and still get paid without a doctor's letter).

Actually, I wouldn't be much good staring at Excel cells all day to correct old programming ...

Good things?

Um... I have a rough idea for a NaNo project, one that doesn't require me to do anything but "write, and see where the situation takes me?" That would count, right?

That definitely counts! emoticon

I went outside early this morning, to be greeted by a clear day with some clouds and some sun, and a touch of frost in the air.

I love that! emoticon
