Re: Something New Under the Sun That's really good! A whole story that makes sense in so few words is quite an achievement. Before I read it I wondered if it was going to be like your story about the tree (was it a sequoia? Sorry I forget).

It's a problem that occurs in cats occasionally. Long-haired breeds that haven't been groomed properly and develop mats can look like they have wings.
There's also a condition where cats have growths on their shoulders that look like wings. Usually this is a skin condition and sometimes it's extra limbs.

Dragon, that article about the winged cats was really intriguing! I'd never heard about that at all. And thanks for prompting an interesting lunch-time discussion at my work, since sometimes we run short of topics!
