I'm curious about something, do most people know the city as Koln outside of Germany, or as Cologne?

Cologne, I think. I know this because I have the habit of saying Koln (since I first heard the name of the city during German classes in middle or high school). Every time I say something about Koln, people look at me oddly and ask, "Where?". When I translate, they usually recognize it as "some German city".
