Re: What if? --- Dinosaurs and Humans
I think the forests would make a relatively safe area.

Re: What if? --- Dinosaurs and Humans
Carnivourous dinosaurs would be extinct except in remote areas and big game parks. People would pay a lot of money to hunt them.
Specially bred small carnivores would be trained as guard dogs.
Cows would be replaced by big herbivores. One brontosaurus would take the place of two cow herds. We'd all drink goats milk.
Battery farm buildings would be huge, but you can't have free range dinosaurs.
Submarines wouldn't exist - oceans too dangerous.
Could the army ride flying dinos?

Re: What if? --- Dinosaurs and Humans
I think if humans and dinosaurs lived in the same time frame, they would either have to learn to co-exist, or one would end up becoming distinct.
If they could co-exist:
Gardens could be planted in greenhouses that are somehow made dino-proof.
Humans would hunt some of the dinos for meat (both herbivore and carnivore) (and I'm sure the dinosaurs would hunt humans for meat! lol)
Housing would have to be in a fairly sheltered area such as dense wooded area, or, as in history, a cave.
If cars are involved, they would have to be kept in a sheltered place as well, just to keep nosey dinos from tearing them up (like a bear will if it smells food!)
Jobs? Are the jobs just working the land, or do the humans actually have paying jobs? If a payed job, it would be things like dung collector (instead of garbage collector). You would have to have your medical people and some kind of police. Dino trainers and of course, the circus that uses dinosaurs as it's star attractions...trained, of course.
You'd have to work your harvesting time around some dinosaurs, I'm sure. You'd not want to be out gathering in the sheaves if the dinos are eating them....could make one rather angry. Don't need dismemberment.
Hehe, Firle...this is a fun subject!!!

Re: What if? --- Dinosaurs and Humans
I guess it would depend on your technological level, now that I think about it again. If you for instance had high power guns, like you can have now. Then big dinosaurs would most definitely be under threat of extinction, unless protected. Otherwise I guess some shelter might be most wise, I wouldn't care to try and take down a Tyrannosaurus Rex for instance, not even with a hunting pack. Though maybe you could some how trap them and all...., humans through time have been pretty effective in analysing other species behaviour and using it against them.

I wouldn't want to take on Velociraptors either. Too smart, and they hunt in packs.
