Favorite type of hero
So what is everyones favorite type of hero in fantasy?
- Knight in shining armor or not so shiny.
- The mage or mage apprentice.
- The peasent from a small village.
- Or some other type of hero.
Now I just wish I knew how to make a vote box for this, though maybe that is a mod or admin only privilege. Hmmm, ok, I guess that worked in making a poll.

Re: Favorite type of hero
I think I love the knight in not so shining armour.
I like to pretend that good wins eventually, through perserverance, finding allies and sometimes using good luck in their favour.
I suppose that's rather hopelessly romantic, but who cares? I love stories like that.

Re: Favorite type of hero
I voted other. My favorite hero is someone who has some fear/secret in their life and they have to overcome their fear to save the day.

Re: Favorite type of hero
Hmmm, quite a few other votes, I wonder if those can be fit into some kind of new category?

Re: Favorite type of hero
I decided not to vote on this one, because it's not a class that intrigues me. I like them all pretty much equally, as long as they're well-written.
I like Thomas Covenant, a craven and misguided magic user as much as I like Jimmy the Hand, a quick-witted do-no-wrong thief, just because they're both well-written.

Re: Favorite type of hero
Knights in shining armor for me, mainyl becuase I like to deal with my problems up front and in your face, which is really how a medieval or fantasy fightign man does. gets right up into sword range and just goes to town.
