Pests and Parasites? Having just read a topic on flies and such, I wondered if you actually go as far as creating pests and parasites for your fantasy worlds?
I have to admit that I might have mentioned flies and mosquitos, but never thought of developing something more elaborate for my worlds.
Now, even if you haven't done it, what could you imagine?
Re: Pests and Parasites? The first thing to come to mind is a mosquito like creature which saps the life force / mana or whatever is required to allow someone to perform magic, instead of blood.
Also little black flies congregating around areas where "dark" magic has been performed would be cool.
Re: Pests and Parasites? In the early days of my world creation I made up a type of burrowing tubelike creature, about a foot long, with nasty spikes and teeth at either end. They burrow through the ground and leap out to suck on the unwary.
I don't know if they will still make it into the book.
