How much to write every day?
I found a few very nice quotes on About.com, from writers who talk about their writing. (Thanks for the link, Corv.)
I like these three a lot:
# "I set myself 600 words a day as a minimum output, regardless of the weather, my state of mind or if I'm sick or well."
(Arthur Hailey)
# "All through my career I've written 1,000 words a day--even if I've got a hangover. You've got to discipline yourself if you're professional. There's no other way."
(J.G. Ballard)
# "I write 2,000 words a day when I write. It sometimes takes three hours, it sometimes takes five hours."
(Nicholas Sparks)
They have all written a LOT. And if Arthur Hailey can do it with 600 words a day, so can we. Right?
Right now, I'm trying to follow Mr. Sparks' example though, after all, it's NaNo. I might drop back to less words a day in December, but I really, really want to keep writing every single day. (Well, maybe I'll allow myself a break on Sundays.)

Re: How much to write every day?
I'm always impressed with you folks who can motivate yourself to write on a daily basis. I am clearly not that dedicated. When I write, I tend to write a LOT, but it's very sporatic. Which is probably why it takes me so long to get anything done!
Best wishes to those with more determination than I!
