The path
the earth beneath my feet shines
in sun light
I stand alone
a new woman, fresh life in my eyes
I see the future in front of me
and smile with images of happiness
of family
of togetherness, contentedness
and laughter
I see comfort
And yet, the path behind is darkened
looking back hurts my newborn eyes
I have adjusted to the warm light
that the future provides
I live in the piece of path
not dulled by fog and darkness,
but not blinded by light
I am in the between place
but I am safe
