How Dangerous is He?
My abusive NP and I finally split after a 2-year, long-distance relationship. I was completely fooled for a long time and foolishly played into his fantasy that he was this perfect man for me; though over the last year I've grown increasingly certain that there is something seriously wrong with him. I've read your book, Sam - amazing work (I'm sure you're happy to hear that) - and he fits the NP description perfectly; however, I also think he is a psychopath.
This farce of a relationship finally ended after he got violent with me for the third time - pushed me to the floor, sat on me, restrained me while I begged for him to let me go, putting his hands over my mouth. He finally let me go of his own accord, but I have some bruising on my arms.
He has also displayed delusional thinking - believing that he has been communicating with aliens and the like - and I recently learned that his uncle suffers from schzophrenia. He has a major God complex - he basically thinks that He IS God. He told me that I am afflicted with "demons" - also, the final straw for me.
At this point, I'm very, very unsettled and afraid of what he is capable of doing. Fortunately, we do not live in the same state, but I know that he has not truly accepted that we are OVER - I am wondering... is there any way to gauge just how dangerous he might become?? He currently does not have a job, is living with his Dad, and is currently on unsupervised probation having completed a year in jail for marijuana-related activities.
Any advise in how to permanently extricate myself from this very stressful mess would be most helpful. I live alone with my two young children. Thank you.

Re: How Dangerous is He?
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I believe finding and reading your book and these links may have saved my life... I still can't BELIEVE how snowed I was by him. He knows holy scripture inside and out, and I really fooled me that he was a righteous man of God. Now I now the horrific truth. Keep up the movement for awareness of severe NPD and psychopathy - Sam, I know you say you can't extricate yourself from this disorder, but your courage in the face of your affliction IS in fact, saving many lives.
