The Web

by Lynn S.

He spends his days in hot pursuit of prey he hunts for glory.
The spider spins his web of lies and marvels at his story.
He has no moral compass to refer to as he spins.
He weaves the fabric of his life to cover up his sins.
His only aim is finding one who buys his little fable.
The spider seeks to hide his net then uses it to disable.
Welcome to his lacy lair with it's seductive beauty.
And if its mesh entraps your soul the spider's done his duty.
He'll watch you dangle in the strands, content he'll start to grin,
Then crawl away, his work complete, another web to spin.

"Narcissistic Supply" is a term that was coined by Sam Vaknin, author of Malignant Self Love-Narcissism Revisited. It is the way a narcissist views his outer world in terms how it serves him.

Frequently Asked Question # 76

quote:

"Money, compliments, a favourable critique, an appearance in the media, a sexual conquest are all converted into the same currency in the narcissist's mind.

This currency is what I call Narcissistic Supply."
