Survivornow, I assume you selected and inserted that picture as your avatar initially, right? An avatar picture doesn't appear unless you put it in yourself as far as I know. I want to make sure I understand before I offer a suggestion.

Just a follow up. If you did put the avatar in initially and now want to change it, go to your control panel, link at the top of the page, and go to Change Miscellaneous Settings. The box at the top is where the URL for the picture you now want to use goes. Just replace the one that's there for the wolf with the new URL of the new picture. You will need to have the new picture on a hosting site like Photobucket or Image Shack as well.

The Avatar instructions are in the General Information Section under the Posting and Setup thread.

Hope this helps. If not, please just ask.

Hugs,
Lynn

Hi Lynn, I am able to change the Avatar in the way you described, but when I post, the old photo comes up. I want to be able to use different Avatars.

Hi. I think at the bottom it says it may take some time for the changes - be sure you saved your changes. Hope this helps.

Hmm. If you have deleted the original URL for the wolf from the box and put a new URL for your new picture in, it should change the picture. Perhaps both URL's are still there or perhaps you haven't hit Save Settings at the bottom when you put the new avatar in?

Try deleting everything from the Photo URL box on your miscellaneous settings. Then hit Save Settings at the bottom of the screen to test this. When you do that, come back to one of your posts. At that point, the wolf picture should be gone. As Femfree said, it may take some time for the change to occur, too.

Once it does, then go back to your control panel, miscellaneous settings and put the URL for the new picture in and be sure to hit Save Settings at the bottom again.

Let me know if it works!

Lynn

Just navigating and getting to know the new site and am delighted to see lots of familiar (and lots of new!) names!

Was wondering - do the posts come up in order with the post with the most recent reply at the top of the list, like on the old site? Also, what is a "sticky topic"? Does it stay at the top of the list even if it has an older reply?

Thanks!
Mirabella

I want to know if all the great information on the left side of the msn site will be available here. There was a lot of great links and information that I would love to be able to reference. (including a really good article that was posted today) Thank you!
