The Questions That Plague Us by Kiki70
The Questions That Plague Us
By Kiki70
If you're with an N, it's never a question of 'if,' this will happen again, but 'when.' The next disrespect, lie, hurt...the next D&D is always around the next corner.
Questions that plague us:
- Will he apologize for his 'latest?'
- Why doesn't he care how I feel?
- Does he hurt too, is he sorry?
- How can he do this to me?
- How can he see things the way he does?
- How can he not see what he did was wrong?
- How can he treat me like this?
- How can he say he wants 'x, y, z,' with me, then sabotage it, ruin it, then throw it all away?
- How can he throw me away, when he just said he loves me so much?
- How can he turn on me so easily?
- How can he be so intolerant? Yet I am supposed to tolerate so very much?
- How can he lie about it, lie about me, when he is so wrong?
- How can he misrepresent me so badly to others, when it's not true? After all he did? After I gave him so much?
- How can he so heartlessly twist the truth?
- Doesn't he care about fairness?
- Doesn't he have any morals? A heart?
- How can he treat someone like this, when that someone loves him, when he supposedly loves that someone too?
This is what plagues our heart and mind when we are OUT of the relationship - but only for a time.
But, you know what?...
Those very same things plague our heart and mind when we are IN the relationship - for ALL time.
You need to realize that you are making a decision here, a very important one for your future, your happiness, for YOU.
It's not about him anymore, it's about you.
He is what he is, it will never change. A whole lot of history and pain has taught you that.
There will come a time when you quit worrying about the 'whys' of him, and start focusing on the 'whys' of you so that you don't get sucked in by the same or a different n ever again.
Walking away is a decision, made with the mind, not the heart. Feelings will eventually follow, they will, they really will.
