It is a truly dismal realization for people who have cared about an N person that we never could penetrate this hard shell they have around them and that at all times, you were merely experienced in terms of what you could do for them.
It's true-you are in an Ns life because you have something to do with their supply-
You admire them
You provide an audience
You reflect well on them (big with parental Ns and mentor Ns)
You know something they want to know
You have something they want to have (steal)
You support them (emotionally, psychologically or with $$$$$)
You know the right people, are well-connected
You are entertaining to them
You take care of them
You "do it" for them (run interference in the world)
You keep them company
You are a sexual appliance
You help them get through the day or night
You tolerate them when no one else can
They need you for something
They want something out of you
It is never about you. It is always about them. They cannot connect, open up, join, empathize.
These are sad, frozen people.

 Yes that is what I did and do.
I am planning my escape.
He won't listen so I'm going to change the locks and leave town for 2weeks hopefully he will have found a new source by the time I return.
