Have Gone NC with family
I have gone NC with family especially mother and aunt.
Mother was abusive to me on phone and I decided that's it, and to psychologically protect myself {I knew they were going to offer no pragmatic help and have help elsewhere} I have walked away. This has included emails I sent them. She called me, and lit into me. Called me a loser.
Things are so bad, I figured out that mother was actually working to get sister to cut me off. Sister told me stuff she was saying, I am glad. Hey otherwise I wouldnt know. Sister has not helped and will not offer it but was still calling me. Mother has worked to get whole family to abandon me. I will not be giving whatever new address I have to even sister will have to use email for contact.
off topic: lotty I know you sent me PM I lost, was going to answer, hope you understand...it had youtube videos in it. sorry.

NC is the only way to find peace. Good luck with that. Have you blocked or changed your phone number, so you don't have to put up with the abuse from NM?
We moved also and didn't leave address, it was a big relief. It's a shame when we have to go to such extremes with our families, but I think you are doing the right thing.

When I move I wont be leaving forwarding address, with relatives I like it will have to be email contact because it would be too risky for the other ones to find out address.
N mother could come back acting "nice" to lure me back in.

Hi Change9. No worries. The youtubes were just the funny Woody Allen clips we chatted about, which I found later when the thread had gone, but thought would make you smile. No big deal.
Re. the NC. I think it will do you a lot of good.

I went NC with my family last May. It was the best thing I ever did. Even my children thanked me and said we would all be happier.

Change9, I'm thinking of you. You have many supporters on the general site. No one can judge you for things taking longer than you had hoped. You are doing everythilng you can. Going NC with family is sad but sounds like necessary to help you stay true to yoursaelf in working toward your goal to get out! Be patient with the process and keep bugging social services/mental health/dv support from you county to solicit their help in you special circumstances. You have many supporters who love you and care on the general board. Love and hugas you!

You may feel sad going NC with family, but will they truly be sad about it? or would it just be another reason for them to abuse you?
