I'm fat

I've gained 30 pounds and for the life of me can't get motivated to get it off. I've been trying every since it was only 10..now it's 30 and I'm fat a miserable. Clothes don't fit and don't want to go anywhere. Any suggestions. Feel pretty much like a failure.

Re: I'm fat

First stop calling yourself fat. I want you to start telling yourself "I am happy. I am healthy. I love my body." I want you to really believe it. Thoughts become things so choose the good ones. (I get that in a tut.com message everymorning.) That's the first step.

I have kept 30 pounds off for about 2 years now. This is REALLY gross but what was a kick started my weight loss was a colon cleanse. I used Colonix but I have heard of others that work just as well. I dropped 10 pounds from just doing that and I was detoxing my body at the same time.

Try to cut out the sugar in your diet. Replace it with something natural like Stevia. Dont use sugar substitutes from the grocery store.

Eat lots of veggies and fruits in a variety of colors. Mix them up in a smoothie if that helps.

Raise your metabolism by moving your body.

Good luck! You can do it!!!

Thank you sps, I have never tried colon thing. I will look for colonix tomorrow. It will be a start. That loving my body thing is going to be hard to do, its just "yulk". But I'm going to work on it.

Re: I'm fat

I have three words for you: FISH OIL CAPSULES.

I am very overweight. I had lost about 40 lbs two years ago, then went on Effexor and that put it back on before I realized it was the cause. Then I lost about 40 after the N thing exploded last year ... and also because of Wellbutrin (GREAT drug). It was a very easy 30 or so lbs to lose. (I was exercising every day for 2 years, which obviously helped.)

When the full force of what the N had done to me really hit over the summer, I started eating more again. I knew I couldn't help it. Even my doctor, who is really kind and generous but relentless about my weight (in a good way), didn't say a word when I'd gained about 13-15 lbs back because of the N. (He knew what I was going through.) His lack of comment was actually very helpful. We both knew why it was happening ... so I just did.

In the fall I began to try to ease back down, which I did, but I was still having a little trouble.

Then I read "You Being Beautiful" and just decided to implement a few small steps that they talked about, including supplements. I'd had friends who took fish oil capsules, so I included them. I never actually expected them to do anything, and if they did, I thought it would be months before I saw or felt it.

I am a real skeptic when it comes to these things, but I have to tell you, I took one capsule and the next morning I felt alert and bright and energetic. I didn't make the connection but after a few days of this I figured that had to be it.

People started telling me I was looking great, losing more weight, and I kept insisting they were wrong. I didn't step on a scale because part of my previous success had been just weighing myself when I went to the doctor every few months, not at home. (It circumvented that whole yo-yo self-blame thing.)

But pretty soon, I started noticing it myself. My clothes were looser and I could actually see it in the mirror, which I have never been able to. The only change I have made since this started (week of Thanksgiving) is taking the fish oil capsules. They are real fat-melters! I'm losing a much higher ratio of fat (square inches?) to actual weight loss ... really shrinking.

They have really helped stabilize me in a lot of ways, particularly with food. I eat whatever I want (as I did when I lost the weight) but I'm eating less since I went on the fish oil. It just naturally curbed my appetite and regulated my mood. (I'm also on Wellbutrin, but these enhanced that.)

It may not work for you, but they are miracle pills to me!!! I take 2400 mgs a day, just the Nature's Best or whatever that is that you find at the store.

Hi Daisy!

Have you heard of Paul Mckenna? He started out as a hypnotherapist and had a show on a few years back.
He has since written a book called I Can Make You Thin and has also had a show based on the same theme, which was aired on living TV recently.

He has four golden rules and DOES NOT believe in dieting...
The rules are...

When you are hungry EAT
Eat consciencely..in other words enjoy every mouthful, put you knife and fork down in between bites..this gives your stomach more time to decide if you are full..and you will find you eat considerably less...
When you THINK you are full STOP EATING..

Eat what you want not what you think you Should be eating...

I was sceptical of this at first and have only been doing this just over a week but already I can see my stomach has gone down,I've more energy, even my depression has eased off a little...

He has a website available and of course the Book and I think you can get CD's as well...

Hope this helps

LillyAngel,

You are so right! It was when I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, that I started losing weight. It took months to actually get to an effective overall reduction in food intake, but I had control. Your guy is so right -- those are the things that worked for me. (Until fish oil!!!)

SPS, get the book, definitely! It's a great thing to do for yourself. I got both the audio CD (I have a long commute) and the book. I haven't actually done anything with the book because I have so much other reading to do, but it's there waiting for me.

I work for the world's largest medical publishing company, and because of what I do I spend a lot of my day reading articles based on the latest research. Everything in they're book is consistent with the best medical science available. Plus, what I really like is that they really are small changes that are easy to make. No pressure! It's a great book, has changed my life.

I forget their names, but one is Dr. Oz, I think.

You can find the info at realage.com. The book is a bestseller so it's pretty well displayed in the big bookstores.

Enjoy!!!
