some long overdue positive news...

Some of you know I had to have surgery early in October for an early stage of cancer (I'm in my late twenties, BTW). I finally got the pathology results back last week and I am in the clear! No sign of anything!

This is a huge relief but I've been suffering from a strange and pronounced bout of post-operative depression. I can only imagine how crappy I'd feel if the pathology results weren't as positive.

Hopefully my continued NC and lack of daily stress will give my immune system a break.

Thanks Phe.... it very much is a relief. While I got lucky this time and caught things before they got really bad.... I truly believe this is an example of how much damage can be done to one's health as the result of verbal/emotional abuse. I was in perfect health a year and a half ago. Add nine months of hell, and the oncologists I dealt with were incredibly surprised by the speed at which this thing appeared... literally out of nowhere. I'd always heard that stress=decreased immune system but didn't really understand it until now.

Other good news... I've moved and the XN will not be able to track me down in my city the next time he threatens to come here. I've been ADAMANT with anyone I know that under no circumstances should my location be given out to anyone, and haven't actually given out the specific address to people, other than the necessary stuff for payroll, banking, bills, etc.

I still cry myself to sleep many nights but I'm hoping these things are steps on my way to feeling better.

hugs

Hi videok,

So happy that your surgery went so well! emoticon

Don't worry, post-operative depression is so very normal. Eat well, rest well, sleep well, drink lots of h20, RELAX!!!! and don't beat yourself up about feeling low.

Do you have a post-op appointment with your doc? Usually if the depression lasts over 2 weeks you should let him/her know.

Hi video,
I'm really happy for you that you have had good health news!
What a relief!

I had malignant cancer 18 mopnths ago, or I had surgery and radiation for it. The cancer was there 2 years ago.
I have my 6 month CT lung scan in Dec., and as always, I am nervous about it.
My aunt cured her Stage 4 metastasized breast cancer (500 tumors in her bones and spine) in a 9 month period by following the directions on diet and supplements in Bill Henderson's "Cancer Free". She had been given only 18 months max to live.
This has given me hope in my own life, and I am following his recommendations now. I feel more in control this way.

Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic news with us. Cancer Free and N Free!! Two malignancies out of your life!

Big hugs,
Had Enough
