9/11/08: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
1. In the movie we are told that the Pevensie father is off at the war. in the LWW book however how is his absence explained?
2. Here's one that might prove to be tough,
unless like me you are a Narnia fanatic,
Put this within context of the movie:
"But we're already having so much fun"
3. "Special treatment for the special boy",
that is Ginnarbrik speaking to Edmund. Throughout the movie Edmund has been the black sheep in the family even as far as joining the White Witch for a period of time, only to realize his mistake later. During the beginning of the movie when Lucy claims to have been in Narnia for the first time, no one believes her obviously but what does Edmund claim to have "seen" in the bathroom cupboard? (of course he said it just to tease)
4. The events of LWW happen during what historical setting for the UK?
5. What causes the children to go back to their own world and leave Narnia?

1. Huh. I don't remember them explaining it, per se. Just that the children were sent away because of the air-raids. Neither of the parents made an appearance. Unless I forgot something.
2. Lucy wants to play hide-and-seek. Peter made this reference to a game that he and Susan were playing, where he had to guess the origin of words in the dictionary.
Guess I'm a fanatic too.
3. a football field
4. World War II, during the air-raids of Britain by Germany
5. When they are hunting the White Stag, they find the lamppost that they passed when they originally came into Narnia. They couldn't remember it initially, but then Lucy had a flashback of "Spare Oom"(lol) and they all rushed back there, in the movie version. In the book, they all feel that there is some adventure waiting for them on the other side, and they deliberately cross.
--- "I used to think of you that way, you know. Like the sun. My personal sun. You balanced out the clouds nicely for me."
"The clouds I can handle. But I can't fight with an eclipse."
