The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian I watched the premiere of Narnia yesterday. I got to see Lucy and the Red Dwarves Costumes.
The movie was certainly better than LWW. It had some new scenes that were not in the book.
It was also better than all the five Harry Potter movies.
I wanted to see this movie again in the theatre but I have to save money for Indiana Jones.
I will definitely buy the Dvd though.
LWW was nominated for three oscars. makeup, visual effects and sound mixing. It won the oscar for makeup.
I think this one will win as well. This movie will definitely get nominated for visual effects, sound mixing
and I hope it gets nominated for costume.
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian I still like LWW more,
I missed Tumnus, the snow and the lantern too much.
still this was an excellent movie.
I loved Tumnus' cameo. that painting on the wall was a great touch to the film and I am very glad it was in there.
also glad it was Edmund who stopped Jadis' return, after what he got in LWW he desrved to get his revenge in this way. though different from the book it works well for the movie.
and yes,
it should get nominated for the same things as LWW and more.
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian I was rather surprised at first how much variation there was from the book - I didn't feel like there was quite that much in LWW. But then, a good bit of Caspian is written in the form of a narrative of Trumpkin's(I LOVED Trumpkin, BTW!), so I understand the change.
Wasn't really in favor of Caspian/Susan. Unnecessary.
I liked a lot of the characters, including Lord Sopespian and Reepicheep. But my favorite is still...*drum roll*...Edmund Pevensie! He's just so cool.

"The clouds I can handle. But I can't fight with an eclipse."

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Yeah Edmund was amazing in this as well,
definately the best of the four Pevensies.
ANd Trumpkin was excellent.
Favorite scenes:
The Night Raid and The River God.
and did I mention I loved Tumnus' pic on the wall?
as for the Susan/Caspian thing:
SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FINAL BOOK (LAST BATTLE).
It shows how she starts to fall out of Narnia.
sure it is nothing wrong with a girl liking a boy. by any means that isn't the message. but it shows how she is maturing and is taking up new interest. This movie did a great job at foreshadowing her final results.
if you notice she didn't seem as happy to be in Narnia, as if something wasn't right.
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian ****************BEWARNED MAYBE SPOILERS***********
Oh it was a lovely movie with breathtaking scenery!
Muh lil lucy as usual stole the show and Edmund was really very good in here.
The whole method of them slowly maturing and readily accepting their roles was put through quite nicely.
What Aslan is and who he represents and Lil Lucy's faith is quite beautifully picturised and explained or rather understood in this movie I suppose.
Lucy's faith and the other's lack of it or rather doubt in their own hopes and their questioning of it especially to a younger one in lil lucy.......and I thought that actually the movie throught carried a feeling of some sweet sadness, maybe of something more to come in the future series.
Susan is lovely as a queen and the sparks of love between her and caspian is quite subtle and dignified in its presentation.
Reposing of faith and trust in someone whose own faith in their beliefs and capabilities could not be better depicted as in towards the end when the others entrust lil lucy to seek out Aslan.
I loved it! And Im definetly buying the books now. By the way this movie has finally triggered a Narnomania like pottermania for the books in India!
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian I watched the premiere in Cinemax,Infinity Mall.
I don't think there will be a narnomania dude.
Some people sitting next to me while watching the movie were like
Oh! That lion can talk.
They hadn't seen LWW and
some didn't even know that the movie was based on a book!
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian third viewing was amazing!
sure since it was the third time in less than a week some very emotionally moving scenes which affected me first two times weren't as impacting this time around.
if I give it some time I know they will again so that is no problem. But what I loved was that scenes which I might have looked over before I appreciated much more this time.
So I focused on different things this time which I enjoyed alot.
I have now seen it three times and have enjoyed each viewing equally but for very different aspects of the movie.
