new WRFF site offers bigger options for illusions
Washington Renaissance and Fantasy Faire has just leased a new site for four years with an option to "buy". That means a more permanent site for Royal Magick's performances and someday a "theatre with bell and whistles", OK, just a thoughtout building in the woods.
I'm looking at adding an rustic, period looking "Assistant's Revenge" for this August if we can make it look good -- still have sight line concerns, how to rig the "walk-around curtain", and large flat working surface building concerns.
Chose the site for the stage with a large tree across from it hoping to be able to do "Shot out of cannon into box" type illusion next year. Also looking at how and where to put up Pomeroy's "Hangman Illusion" which involves a different production style than our usual show; might have it seperate and performed with help of Queen's Court -- that means an oppurtunity for someone else to star and bruise their knees doing it.
