I lost interest in this thread a while back. Is the moaning over yet?

I came here to find a friendly nursing forum and it doesn't seem that way at all.

Troll alert emoticon

BTW if you are going to troll, it is a real giveaway when your first post is to criticize the forum emoticon Genuine first-time visitors usually introduce themselves, make a generic friendly comment or ask for help and advice, they never criticise the running of a forum as their first post.

Good luck with your future trolling and can I recommend this
guide to trolling?

You kind of get used to the personalities and it usually makes for good debate! emoticon

Yeah I get the principle. It's the whining and the " oh we're so hard done by" complaining that gets on my tits. Nurses earn a decent wage these days. I don't hear any of them raising so much as a whimper about the rubbish deal their ancillary worker colleagues in the NHS get.

But also, presumably you use that car outside of work hours, yes? So presumably not all your petrol costs are work-related, yes? And if they pay for all your petrol, why not the car itself? Hell, why should any nurse pay for the shoe leather she uses?

Presumably you have no qualms about buying all of the books, needed by your students, for them then Simpson, as you seem to think that nurses should pay to be able to do the jobs that they are employed to do for others benefit.

You don't do logic, do you Barry?

Yes I do thank you Simpson, what is the difference between expecting a comunity nurse to pay for the overtaxed fuel for their vehicle, so that they can do their job, and you paying for your students books so that you can do yours.

To be honest I take very little written on this forum seriously, it's becoming a very tedious joke.

Well i'm with the moaners and have recently been moaning to HR about this issue. I have a lease car and get 10p/mile which no longer covers the cost of the fuel I am putting in. The 10p/mile has not changed for 6 years, which if the interweb is correct is when petrol was about 70p/litre

i use my own car and as its a 1600cc i get just under 50p a mile which is obviously taxed.... its the same amount i was getting last year when the fuel prices were a lot lower than they are now.... so effectively my salary has gone down to compensate for petrol prices.... i cannot get a lease car as i dont do enough miles but i would like to be reimbursed fairly for the miles i do.

I think that is a perfectly fair request Lulu and people certainly be out of pocket using their car at work as part of their job.
